Disneyland added aPhineas and Ferbcharacter to its roster of live-action characters, but the Internet is unsettled by his design. With Halloween fast approaching, Disneyland California is preparing for its shining attraction, the Treat Trails at Oogie Boogie Bash, which features a group of Disney villains wandering the park, while visitors trick-or-treat to collect candy. With aPhineas and Ferbrevivalcoming to Disney TV and then Disney+, the company elected to reintroduce its major villain in Disneyland.
Unfortunately,Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s Disneyland appearance is unnerving potential visitors. Twitter’sDiscussing Filmreleased a few still images of Doofenshmirtz at the Treat Trails, and his design is worrying. Check it out below:
The live-actionDr. Doofenshmirtz has the same proportions as his animated counterpart, including his long face and his large and pointed nose. He also has the same six-pronged hair design and shares the animated version’s bushy eyebrows. He will debut on August 25, but unfortunately, the audience has not been positively receptive to his appearance.

The Doofenshmirtz Design Was Flawed From The Start
There Are Alternative Styles To Adapt Phineas And Ferb Characters
It is only natural that Disney would hope to renew interest in the show with a revival on the way. While a release date has not been confirmed, late 2024 or early 2025 is still possible, so including Dr. Doofenshmirtz for a Halloween event is a natural fit. Unfortunately, his warped proportions make him a bizarre figure in-person, even if animation makes him appear to be one of the more typically proportioned characters in the show. While Disney naturally wanted to includePhineas & Ferbcharacters, there were other options.
Doofenshmirtz has always had a long-standingrivalry with Perry the Platypus, who might have been a better addition as a live-action member of the Disneyland cast. Disneyland California’s Big Thunder Ranch formerly served as a petting zoo, so the park has already shown a willingness to feature animals in safe conditions, serving essentially as mascots.A platypus with a hat could be an adorable addition, provided it has a skilled caretaker to ensure its safety. While it would not fit the Halloween theme, it would be much less terrifying than a live-action Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

Another option would berelying on a completely artificial design. Instead of featuring the actor’s face with make-up and prosthetics, the character could be completely depicted by his costume. Disney has already mastered that style, as it previously proved with Mickey Mouse and even humanoid characters, including Maui, Buzz Lightyear, and Pinocchio. Disney does feature actors relying on make-up and costuming, including Tinkerbell, Moana, and Aladdin, but mixing the styles has created an uncanny and terrifying effect.Phineas and Ferbwould have been better served by an entirely artificial style.
