Lenore Zann Paid A Beautiful Homage To The Beloved Rogue

Zann will continue to voice Anna Marie inX-Men ‘97Season 2

X-Men’s very own Southern Belle is one of the toughest mutants out there, capable of incredible feats of strength, flight, and bravery. Since the debut ofX-Men: The Animated Series, Rogue has played a crucial role in the mythos of the animated series, which continued with the 2024 reboot ofX-Men ‘97.Lenore Zann first started voicing Rogue in 1992, over 30 years ago, and has remained a delightful part of the X-Men fandom ever since, making her return as Rogue in the relaunch even more exciting. Zann clearly loves Rogue, and is honored to be part of such a lovely X-Men community, and she returns that love to fans at conventions, in interviews, and now on the red carpet of the Emmy’s.

Lenore Zann’s Rogue-inspired look for the Emmy’s, including a wig replicating Rogue’s iconic white streaks, wasbased on Luciano Vecchio’s costume design for the 3rd annual Hellfire Gala. The stunning outfit, created by seamstress Rachael Sanderson, was a lovely homage to Rogue, that left Luciano Vecchio, “…speechless, mind blown, dead and reborn…” Rogue wore this gorgeous outfit during Krakoa’s final Hellfire Gala, during which Orchis launched their brutal assault on the X-Men that began theFall of X. While Rogue was only able to wear the look for a short while before she had to go into hero-mode, it was one of the best look’s of the year, and cemented the hero as a fashion icon (even if she does always fall back on her brown jacket!).

What an exciting change from the dresses and suits we’re used to seeing!

Cosplay is becoming more and more mainstream, with fans cosplaying beloved characters from Marvel, DC, Disney, and countless other media franchises, often looking nearly identical to their fictional counterparts. Lenore Zann’s elevated, but still comics-accurate, Rogue look at the Emmy’sproves that celebrities can totally pull off cosplay homages to character’s they play, or simply love. It would be really amazing to see red carpets filled with people honoring the fictional characters they play, and perhaps Zann’s incredible look will inspire others to cosplay on the red carpet.
