Adult Lottie Matthews looking shocked in Yellowjackets season 3

It’s hard because I always say that whenever we kill characters off, it’s a testament to how good of an actor they are. You don’t kill a character that no one cares about, you kill the characters that people care about because that’s what makes the show so good, and what makes it so hard to see them go.

I like to believe that it’s not true, but I don’t know. I mean, it’s Yellowjackets. We have free rein on what we can do, what we can fake, and how we’ll want to do the twists and turns. But we have this group thread, and we text each other whenever an episode [script] is released, and we were like, “No way!” Everyone was in absolute shock and devastated.

Also, I’m very close to Simone [Kessell] and Melanie [Lynskey]. I love them both so much. And to me the idea of not having Simone is impossible.
