With Lighter about to join the chaotic group of playable agents inZenless Zone Zero, knowing how to build this flexible agent will help maximize his potential. Lighter is the last addition from the Sons of Calydon, and while he may seem more tame than his fellow bikers, he packs no less punch. Despite a meta shift towards Anomaly units,Stun units will likely always have a significant role inZZZ,as eachS-Rank stunner characterhas had some way of buffing damage.
Lighter’s punch-focused kit will heavily revolve around his passives and Morale Eruption state. Essentially, Lighter will gain Morale points, up to 100, as he does damage or uses energy. At 80, he will enter the Morale Eruption state, which will increase his Impact and overall power.Enemies hit by Lighter in this state will have their Fire and Ice Resistance lowered while also increasing their stun duration. This is important as Lighter’s bonus passive will let him generate stacks of Uplifting, up to 20, on teammates when he hits enemies, and each stack will increase his team’s Fire and Ice damage.

Best W-Engine For Lighter
One Best Choice Amongst Lackluster Options
If early information is accurate,Lighter’s signature W-Engine Blazing Laurel will be his best option. As of now, the only information known about this engine is that Quick or Defensive Assists will increase the users' Impact, and any basic attack hit will reward a stack, up to 20, of a buff that will increase the critical damage to any Fire or Ice damage on the users' team. This Engine is the obvious choice for Lighter, playing perfectly into his playstyle and team comps.
Zenless Zone Zero: The Best W-Engines & How To Use Them
Zenless Zone Zero’s W-Engines are like weapon mods; they empower weapon stats in combat. Of the 50+ in the game, which are the strongest?
The rest of the Stun W-Engines is a mixed bag for Lighter, as hisnext best option would be Lycaon’s signature, The Restrained. This option increases the Daze of Basic Attacks whenever an enemy is hit by 6% for eight seconds and stacks up to five times. This fits perfectly into what Lighter wants to do, but sadly, it offers no other bonuses. The other glaring issue is it is one of several S-Rank engines on the Standard Banner.

For A-Rank options, Lighter is best left with Six Shooter or Precious Fossilized Core.
Six Shooter will give Lighter a big Daze boost to his EX Special Attackonce its charges are built up, whereasPrecious Fossilized Corewill give him Daze bonuses to targets that are in high health. Given his kit and limited options, pulling for Lighter’s signature W-Engine if planning to invest and use him properly would be recommended.

Best Drive Discs For Lighter
Shockstar Reigns Supreme
Like fellow top Stun UnitQingyi and her best build, Lighter will be utilizing the Shockstar Disco set. This set offers a 6% Impact increase at two pieces and increases the Daze damage of Basic Attacks, Dash Attacks, and Dodge Counters by 20%. Until a better option is added, this set is the go-to option for any Stun Unit. It adds all the important stats needed while still letting them gain from the extra two-piece set.
The two-piece set comes down to preference, butSwing Jazz is often used to maximize the Energy Regen of Stun units. Other options for Lighter include Hormone Punk to raise his Attack or Inferno Metal to boost his Fire damage. Anything else would be borderline useless for Lighter and should only be used as a stat bump.

Sub-stats
Critical Rate, Critical Damage, Attack%, Penetration
Being a Stun Unit, the only stat of great importance is Impact, which should be the priority on Disk 6. Disk 4 should prioritize Crit Rate while Disk 5 has Fire Damage Bonus so Lighter can chip in some damage of his own. The sub-stats will follow this trend, emphasizing both Crits, Penetration, and Attack Percentage.
Best Teams For Lighter
A Fire And Ice Specialist
Stun units are a unique factor in team compositions, and they are either universal or niche. For example, Lycaon is better with Ice teams, whereas Qingyi can realistically work with anyone. Along with this, they are better with Attack units than they are Anomaly. In this regard,Lighter’s best teams will be with Fire or Ice Attack units. This makes fans of Ellen Joe or Soldier 11 the prime targets of the feisty brawler.
All Zenless Zone Zero Factions & Agents
Part of Zenless Zone Zero’s appeal is the large list of playable agents and the interesting factions they all belong to which expand the game’s story.
Pairing Lighter with thebest Ellen Joe buildand Soukaku makes an already strong team even better, as a properly built Lighter will beat Lycaon. Meanwhile,he is a major boost for Soldier 11 teams, or whenever the next Fire Attack unit releases, who were previously limited to Koleda or Caesar for stunning. However, Koleda is a clunkier unit with slow stun times, and Caesar, while also being a limited pull agent, is a Defender who relies heavily on counter-attacking to inflict quick stuns.

Lighter can work well in any team, given his fast Daze application and playstyle. However, he would feel less effective than if he was put into a team that allows him to capitalize on his passive buffs and those from his W-Engine. Luckily, this also makes Lighter relatively future-proof for any Fire or Ice Attack units that come in the future. He is also easy to pair withZZZ’s top Fire support, Lucy, giving them both easy access to their extra passive.
Lighter is another addition toZenlessthat showcases how the game is evolving. It quickly moves away from every character fitting into one small niche or playstyle and expands into characters that are flexible in multiple compositions. Even though Lighter’s team may seem small currently, he has immense potential in them and the future. This makes pulling for and properly building Lighter inZenless Zone Zeroa high priority for those who fall into his strengths.
